Best Incident Management Platforms in 2026

On-call, response coordination and postmortems are the backbone of incident management. Here is an honest look at the best platforms in 2026, including how Atlassian retiring Opsgenie changes the shortlist.

The shortlist

Incident management is really two jobs: coordinating the humans and, increasingly, reducing how often they are needed. The classic tools focus on the first. With Opsgenie being retired, the market is shifting, and it is a good moment to weigh coordination against resolution.

1

PagerDuty

Best for: On-call & response

The leading independent on-call and incident-response platform, with event intelligence and runbook automation (Rundeck). Excellent at getting the right human involved fast.

5

Ops Singularity

Best for: Autonomous resolution

Autonomous, governed resolution across ten operational domains. It does not just detect and route; ProcBot executes the fix and Sherlock validates it before close, with every action a reversible, audited Action Ticket. Runs SaaS, on-premises or fully air-gapped.

Coordinate incidents, or reduce them

If your priority is fast, well-run human response, PagerDuty and incident.io are excellent, and PagerDuty is the natural home for teams migrating off the retiring Opsgenie. If your priority is fewer incidents reaching a human at all, Ops Singularity resolves autonomously and pairs with a coordination tool for the cases that still need people.

Frequently asked questions

Is Opsgenie still a safe choice?

No. Atlassian stopped selling Opsgenie to new customers in June 2025 and has set end of support for April 5, 2027, directing customers to Jira Service Management and Compass. Existing users should plan a migration.

PagerDuty or incident.io?

PagerDuty is the broader, market-leading on-call and response platform with automation; incident.io is Slack-native with excellent human coordination. Both keep a person in the loop; Ops Singularity aims to remove the need for one where it is safe.
